Drug Trafficking Suspect Busted in Southeast Kentucky with Large Quantity of Meth, Pot, Pills, Cash & More

LONDON, KY (May 7, 2021) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Hobie Daugherty along with Deputy Landry Collett and shift Sgt. John Inman arrested William Richard Hall age 37 of Liberty Road, London early Friday morning May 7, 2021 at approximately 1:15 AM.

The arrest occurred off Highway 909 at a business approximately 10 miles north of London while deputies were conducting a drug investigation there.

Deputies determined while at the business that a drug trafficking suspect was allegedly in the restroom.

Deputies waited on the suspect to exit noting that as he exited, he had a syringe in his hand which he immediately gave to Deputy Collett.

During the subsequent investigation this individual was found in possession of a large quantity (over 57 grams of suspected Methamphetamine) stuffed down in the front of his pants.

In addition, this individual was found in possession of:

  • A large quantity of Xanax bars
  • An unknown white substance which will be identified by the crime lab
  • A large quantity of Gabapentin, Hydrocodone and Marijuana
  • Multiple empty sandwich bags
  • Other syringes
  • A set of scales
  • A large amount of U.S. Currency

William Richard Hall (left) was charged with:

  • Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
  • Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – drug to be identified
  • Trafficking in a controlled substance – third-degree – first offense
  • Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Trafficking in Marijuana

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
