WILLIAMSBURG, KY - On Friday May 14, 2021 at 11:54 AM the Whitley County Sheriff's Department reported that Sheriff Todd Shelley had released the following press bulletin:
Whitley County Deputies Chad Foley and Chad Estep, along with KSP Trooper Brandon Creekmore, worked the area of Canada Town yesterday evening to add additional targeted patrol due to an increase in criminal behavior.
Deputies had received a location of Kevin Malone in the Canada Town area.
Yesterday afternoon, Deputy Chad Foley observed him in the area of 204 and charged him with:
- Possession of Methamphetamine
- He was also charged with 2 outstanding warrants from the Louisville Metro Police Department

Later in the evening, Deputy Foley, Deputy Estep and Trooper Creekmore were attempting to serve an arrest warrant when Deputy Foley observed a Black GMC on the roadway, driven by a male with an outstanding arrest warrant.
The driver attempted to flee and was pursued by Trooper Creekmore until the vehicle was stopped on Boyd White Road.
Johnny Staggs was charged with:
- Operating a Motor Vehicle under the Influence of a Controlled Substance
- A host of other Traffic Charges
Deputy Estep arrested a passenger, Douglas Griffin (no photo available), and charged him with:
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Alcohol Intoxication
- Illegal Possession of Alcohol in a Public Place
- False Statements
- Concealment of Facts
Deputy Foley arrested another passenger, Carol Sutherland, for:
- Public Intoxication
- Possession of Methamphetamine
- Tampering with Physical Evidence
- Possession of Marijuana

Additionally, yesterday evening, Deputy Estep arrested Larry Dickerson for:
- An outstanding child support warrant from Whitley County
###
Later in the evening while targeting another area of increased drug activity, Deputy Estep observed a male to flee inside a residence upon recognizing law enforcement.
Deputies pursued the male into the residence and observed him hiding loaded syringes filled with blood and Methamphetamine.
Search incident to arrest, Deputies located:
- Numerous loaded syringes
- Marijuana
- Over 100 individual baggies
- Suboxone
- Neurontin
- Methamphetamine pipes
- Digital scales
Deputy Estep arrested Daniel Warren charging him with:
- Trafficking in Controlled Substance-Methamphetamine
- Possession of Marijuana
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd Degree-Drug Unspecified
- Possession of Controlled Substance 2nd
- Tampering with Physical Evidence
Patricia Kidd was charged by Deputy Estep with:
- Trafficking in Controlled Substance-Methamphetamine
- Possession of Marijuana
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd Degree-Drug Unspecified
- Possession of Controlled Substance 2nd
