LONDON, KY (May 28, 2021) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Travis Napier (primary investigator) along with K-9/shift Sgt. Gary Mehler, K-9 Deputy Jake Miller and Major Chuck Johnson investigated a single vehicle single traffic fatality which occurred on KY 312 approximately 10 miles southwest of London on Thursday afternoon May 27, 2021 at approximately 3:23 PM.
Sheriff's investigators reported that apparently a 1992 red Ford pickup was traveling east bound on KY 312 when it traveled off the roadway and struck a tree causing a fatal injury to the driver.
The driver was identified as:
Damon Longsworth age 55 of Corbin – pronounced deceased at the scene of the Laurel County Coroner's office.
