Drug Trafficking Arrest and Contraband Seized during Traffic Stop in Laurel County, Kentucky

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Justin Taylor along with Deputy Landry Collett arrested two individuals early Monday morning June 21, 2021 at approximately 3:44 AM.

The arrests occurred at a business off Highway 312 approximately 10 miles South of London after deputies conducted a traffic stop on two motorcycles that failed to signal a turn.

During the stop it was determined that neither driver had a valid motorcycle license. In addition, the two different motorcycle drivers were found in possession of Methamphetamine.

Also, between the two subjects, deputies located hypodermic syringes and digital scales.

The two arrested individuals were identified as:

Christopher Clontz age 29 of Bentley Road, London, KY charged with:

  • Failure to signal
  • No motorcycle operator's license
  • Operating on suspended or revoked operator's license
  • Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – second offense – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Drug paraphernalia

Richard Cole age 26 of West Pine Hill Road, London, KY charged with:

  • Failure to signal
  • No motorcycle operator's license
  • Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

These two individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
