Clay County, Kentucky Student Awarded Kay Campbell Nursing Scholarship

Bryson Henson of Manchester, KY has been awarded a 2021 Kay Campbell Nursing Scholarship from Grace Health.

Bryson, the son of Gary and Melena Henson, will receive a $3,000 scholarship award for his nursing career studies, which he will begin pursuing this fall at the University of Kentucky following his graduation from Clay County High School. Grace Health awards the Kay Campbell Nursing Scholarship to a student in each of its six service areas in Southeastern Kentucky. The scholarships are awarded to graduating seniors pursuing a career in nursing or a medical related field. The students are chosen on a competitive basis of high scholarship, community service and leadership, and promise of future contributions preferably to the nursing profession.

Bryson is interested in the field of pediatric nursing with future goals of becoming a nurse at UK.

Bryson stated “This scholarship means that after all the battles and hardships that there is still hope for me to achieve my dreams. I wish to become a nurse and not only give my patients the best care I can provide, but also give them hope for a better tomorrow. I wish to show that they can overcome any adversity as long as they have hope. This scholarship will help fund my college education so I can provide care for my future patients.”
