LONDON, KY (July 15, 2021) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Justin Taylor along with Deputy Landry Collett, Shift Sgt. John Inman, and Deputy Hobie Daugherty arrested two individuals early Thursday morning July 15, 2021 at approximately 1:11 AM.
The arrests occurred at a business off I–75 approximately 10 miles north of London after deputies located two individuals in a Hyundai Sonata and found one individual in possession of:
- A crystal like substance believed to be Methamphetamine
- Methlphenidate tablets
- Glass smoking pipes with residue
- Hypodermic syringes
This subject was also a wanted fugitive from Ohio.
Another individual was found in possession of:
- A syringe
- Suspected Methamphetamine
- Buprenorphine
The two arrested individuals were identified as:
Casey Scott Crank (left) age 29 of Hamilton Ohio charged with:
- Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
- Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense
- Prescription controlled substances not in proper container – first offense
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
In addition this individual was wanted by the Butler County Sheriff's office in Ohio and has been charged with being a fugitive from Ohio.
Brandon Dean Phelps (right) age 38 of Fariston Road, London charged with:
- Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – third offense – Methamphetamine
- Possession of a controlled substance – second-degree
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
These two individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
