Manchester, Kentucky Man that Fled Police Earlier this Month in a Stolen Vehicle still Incarcerated Charged with Numerous Offenses

MANCHESTER, KY - According to the the Manchester Police Department at around 4:00 AM on Thursday July 8, 2021 K9 Officer Jackson and Clay County Sheriffs Deputy Johnson received a call of a stolen black pickup that had a 20 ft. gooseneck trailer attached had been taken from a residence on Little Bull Lane.

Upon arrival Officer’s began to canvass the area in attempt to locate the vehicle, when Clay County 911 dispatched Officer Jackson and Deputy Johnson to Lipps Branch where an extremely intoxicated subject in a black dodge truck pulling a trailer was at a residence.

Before Officer’s could make it on scene they located the truck traveling on Highway 2000 at a high rate of speed. Officer Jackson and the Sheriff's Deputy activated their emergency equipment in an attempt do a traffic stop but the vehicle failed to yield and continued on to Highway 421 towards Manchester.

The vehicle finally came to a stop at Little Caesars and after a brief struggle officer’s where able to take the driver into custody.

Paul Alex Day, 21 of Manchester, KY. was charged with the following:

  • FLEEING OR EVADING POLICE, 1ST DEGREE (MOTOR VEHICLE),
  • TBUT OR DISP AUTO - $10,000 OR MORE BUT U/$1,000,000
  • WANTON ENDANGERMENT-1ST DEGREE-POLICE OFFICER
  • OPER MTR VEHICLE U/INFL ALC .08 (189A.010(1A) - 1ST
  • RESISTING ARREST
  • WANTON ENDANGERMENT-1ST DEGREE-POLICE OFFICER
  • CRIMINAL TRESPASSING-3RD DEGREE
  • TBUT OR DISP ALL OTHERS $10,000 OR MORE BUT U/$1,000,000

This individual was lodged in the Clay County Detention Center.

According to JailTracker, Alex Day is still in jail with no bond or court date having been set at the time of this report's publishing.
