Manchester, Kentucky Man facing multiple Charges after fleeing Police in Laurel County

LONDON, KY -Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Tommy Houston arrested Gregory Sizemore age 58 of Manchester early Sunday morning October 3, 2021 at approximately 1:30 AM.

The arrest occurred on Hal Rogers Parkway approximately 2 miles east of London while Deputy Houston with assistance from Constable Travis Gregory were finishing an investigation on a noninjury traffic crash on Hal Rogers Parkway.

As they were concluding the investigation, Deputy Houston observed a tan colored Cadillac Escalade traveling right at him toward the shoulder of the roadway where a rollback had been called to the crash scene.

Deputy Houston shoved the Constable out-of-the-way as both attempted to avoid being struck by the Escalade which continued on failing to stop.

Deputy Houston entered his patrol vehicle and activated his emergency lights and sirens noting that the Escalade was continuing to accelerate away.

The suspect vehicle finally stopped and an investigation was conducted and the driver was determined to be under the influence.

Gregory Sizemore (right) was charged with:

  • Two counts of wanton endangerment – first-degree – police officer is victim
  • Fleeing or evading police – first-degree – motor vehicle
  • Operating a motor vehicle under the influence
  • Failure to give right of way to emergency stopped vehicle

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
