WEST MONROE, LA (October 21, 2021) – Shortly after 1:10 A.M., Louisiana State Police Troop F responded to a single-vehicle fatal crash on U.S. Highway 80, near Slocum Road. This crash claimed the life of a West Monroe man who was operating a motorcycle.
The initial investigation revealed a 2007 Suzuki motorcycle, driven by 38-year-old Christopher Jett, was traveling westbound on U.S. Highway 80.
For reasons still under investigation, the motorcycle traveled off the road and into a ditch.
After entering the ditch, the motorcycle began rolling over and Jett was ejected.
Jett, who was wearing an approved DOT helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Toxicology samples were obtained and will be submitted for analysis.
The crash remains under investigation.
In 2021, Troop F has investigated 47 fatal crashes resulting in 56 deaths.
