LONDON, KY (December 3, 2021) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Travis Napier Along with CSO Walter Marker arrested Lawrence Edward Smith age 46 of Corbin on Wednesday evening December 1, 2021 at approximately 6:18 PM.
The arrest occurred off Robert E Cox Road, approximately 10 miles South of London after deputies were dispatched to an alleged assault that had occurred there.
Upon arrival at the scene deputies conducted an investigation and learned that allegedly a male subject had shoved and choked a female subject there.
Lawrence Smith was charged with:
- Strangulation – first-degree
- Assault – 4th degree
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
