Large amount of Suspected Meth, Wanted Fugitive and a Non-Responsive Female located near Interstate 75 at Motel in Southern Kentucky during Theft Complaint Investigation

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's shift Sgt. Brett Reeves along with K-9 Deputy Jake Miller arrested two individuals on Tuesday morning December 7, 2021 at approximately 9:44 AM.

The arrests occurred at a motel off West Cumberland Gap Parkway approximately 11 miles South of London after deputies were dispatched to a complaint of a theft from a trailer parked in the parking lot at the motel there.

Upon arrival at the scene and in cooperation with management, a suspect was identified on surveillance video and the room where the suspect was staying was determined through investigation.

Deputies knocked on the door attempting to make contact with individuals inside the room, and as suspects in the room looked out and observed deputies, the suspect attempted to slam the door and deputies noted hearing a commotion inside.

As deputies made entry, they observed a male subject attempting to jump out an open window. That suspect refused deputies commands and following a brief struggle with deputies was taken into custody.

A non-responsive female subject was found inside the room and EMS notified to check that individual. Upon being awakened and while being checked by EMS, the female subject created a disturbance yelling and cursing. While being escorted in the hallway of the motel this individual continued to yell and curse and create a disturbance there.

Deputies located a large amount of suspected Methamphetamine, baggies, scales, and needles by the open window that the male subject was attempting to flee out of.

In addition, through investigation it was determined that the male suspect was a wanted fugitive from Ohio. The two arrested individuals were identified as:

Robert Aaron Eberle age 43 of Cincinnati Ohio charged with:

  • Theft by unlawful taking
  • Resisting arrest
  • Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
  • Disorderly conduct – second-degree
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

In addition, this subject was charged with:

  • Being a fugitive from the state of Ohio

Ohio advised they will extradite this individual back to Ohio.

Brittney Vail age 32 of Cincinnati Ohio charged with:

  • Disorderly conduct – second-degree
  • Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
  • Resisting arrest.

These two individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
