SOMERSET, KY - Pulaski County Sheriff Greg Speck is reporting that on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at approximately 8:38 PM, Deputy Tan Hudson and other officers responded to the Dollar General in Ferguson about a person driving a red truck stealing a money bag from another vehicle in the parking lot. Before the officers got on scene a Dodge flatbed truck was in the parking lot with the red truck.
The red truck and the flatbed truck left down south KY 1247. Kentucky State Trooper Adam Childress found the trucks sitting on the side of south 1247.
When Deputy Hudson got to Trooper Childress, Trooper Childress was out with an occupant. At this time, the truck took off pulling into oncoming traffic. Deputy Hudson activated his lights and siren, but the truck continued to flee.
Deputy Hudson continued to pursue the truck until it made it to Gibson Lane in Bronston where the driver jumped from the truck letting the vehicle roll into a parked and unoccupied Nissan Altima. The Altima received extensive damage.
Deputy Branson Patterson investigated the incident involving the damage to the Altima.
The driver of the truck fled into a residence with Deputy Hudson chasing him on foot.
Deputy Hudson found the driver hiding in a bathroom of the residence and arrested him without any further incident.
The driver of the 1999 Dodge Ram pickup was identified as Justin Stigall, age 30, from Aqua Trail in Somerset, KY. He also had an address in Bronston, KY. Mr. Stigall also had several outstanding warrants.
Justin Stigall was charged with:
- Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance, 1st Offense
- Fleeing or Evading Police, 2nd Degree (Motor Vehicle)
- Fleeing or Evading Police, 2nd Degree (On Foot)
- Criminal Mischief, 1st Degree
- Reckless Driving
- No Insurance
- Expired Driver’s License
- Improper Display of License Plates
- Rear License Plate Not Illuminated
Deputy Hudson also served three warrants on Mr. Stigall where he had failed to appear on other non-related charges.
Mr. Stigall was lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center where he remains as of this press release.
A passenger in the truck driven by Mr. Stigall, Christian Anderson, age 24 from Fred Stevens Road in Pine Knot, KY, fled on foot as well. Officer Eric Thomas, Burnside Police Department commanded Mr. Anderson to stop, but he refused.
He was caught and taken into custody after a short struggle and was placed under arrest by Deputy Branson Patterson, Deputy Ryan Jones, and Officer Eric Thomas.
Christian Anderson was charged with:
- Fleeing or Evading Police, 2nd Degree (On Foot)
- Resisting Arrest
- Possession of a Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Methamphetamine) Indictment Warrant
Deputy Branson Patterson also served an Indictment Warrant on Mr. Anderson for a charge of:
- Possession of a Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Methamphetamine)
Mr. Anderson was lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center where he remains as of this press release.
Additionally, because of this traffic stop and subsequent arrests, Trooper Childress was able to locate and retrieve stolen property that was involved in an un-related theft investigation currently being conducted by Deputy David Wesley.
