Man Wanted On Two Arrest Warrants Found In Possession Of Stolen ATV In Leslie County, Kentucky And Taken Into Custody

HYDEN, KY - The Leslie County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that on Saturday, January 1, 2022 Leslie County Sheriff Deputies Matt Buell and Sam Roberts received information that a stolen ATV from Perry County was possibly in the Wooton area of Leslie County.

Deputies Buell and Roberts went to the location on Highway 80 to investigate and found Christopher Bales, 27 of Wooton, KY to be in possession of the stolen ATV after finding it hid behind the home in the creek.

The ATV had been stripped and spray painted another color.

Bales who had active Perry County arrest warrants as well, was arrested with no further incident.

Christopher Bales was charged with:

  • Theft by unlawful taking
  • Served 2 Perry County arrest warrants

Christopher Bales was lodged in the Leslie County Detention Center.
