Fatal Collision on Kentucky Route 32

FATALITY COLLISION 700rc

MOREHEAD, KY - The Kentucky State Police is reporting that on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at approximately 6:05 P.M., KSP, Post 8, Morehead received a call for assistance from Morehead 911 Center with a two vehicle fatal collision.

The collision occurred at the intersection of KY 32 and Woodhill Drive in Rowan County.

Through the investigation, it was determined Joey W. Earls, 44 years of age from Morehead was operating a 2002 Cadillac Deville.

Mr. Earls was attempting to make a left turn from on to KY 32 from Woodhill Drive.

Dalton B. Jessee, 24 years of age from Morehead was traveling westbound on KY 32 operating a 1999 Ford pickup.

Joey Earls struck Dalton Jessee causing fatal injuries to Mr. Jessee.

Joey Earls was transported to St. Claire Hospital by Rowan County EMS then later transferred to the University of Kentucky Hospital to be treated for his injuries.

Dalton Jessee was pronounced deceased at the scene by Rowan County Coroner John Northcutt.

Kentucky State Police was assisted on scene by: Rowan County Sheriff’s Department, Rowan County EMS, Morehead/Rowan Fire Department, Elliottville Fire Department and Rowan County Coroner’s Office.

This collision remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police, Morehead.
