MARION COUNTY, OR - The Oregon State Police is reporting that on Friday, January 28, 2022 at approximately 1:25 PM, OSP Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a motorcycle crash on Highway 99E near milepost 34.
The preliminary investigation revealed a southbound Kawasaki motorcycle, operated by David Johnson (54) of Woodburn, was traveling at high rate of speed when it left the roadway and went into a field. The motorcycle struck a telephone pole guidewire and caught on fire.
Johnson sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased.
Highway 99E traffic was impacted for approximately 3 hours.
OSP was assisted on scene by Woodburn Fire Department and ODOT.
