Meth, Heroin seized during Drug Investigation at Complaint Scene in Pulaski County, Kentucky

SOMERSET, KY - Pulaski County Sheriff Greg Speck is reporting that on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at 3:29 PM, Deputy Trent Massey and other members of the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office, along with Agent Randy Goff with the Lake Cumberland Area Drug Task Force, conducted a drug investigation on Jacksboro Road in Pulaski County.

Police have received several complaints about this location and the sale of illegal drugs.

Two people were identified outside the residence during the investigation, Dustin Brewer and Holly Sumner.

Dustin Brewer, age 34, has an address on West Bourbon Road in Somerset, Kentucky. Holly Sumner, age 36, has an address in Evarts, Kentucky.

Both had active arrest warrants on them.

As Deputy Massey approached the residence, both Brewer and Sumner ran but were apprehended quickly by Deputy Massey.

Lieutenant Daryl Kegley prepared and submitted a search warrant for the shed out behind the residence at 2184 Jacksboro Road. Mr. Brewer was known to stay in that shed. The search warrant was granted and then served by the Sheriff’s Office.

As a result of the search, numerous empty plastic baggies and electronic scales were found inside. Located outside of the shed, near where Deputy Massey chased and located Brewer and Sumner, Deputy Massey found a plastic baggie of suspected Methamphetamine weighing approximately 8.7 grams, one plastic baggie of suspected Heroin weighing approximately 5.7 grams, and one plastic baggie containing suspected Heroin weighing approximately 1.4 grams.

Through investigation, it was discovered that the illegal substances and drug paraphernalia belonged to Holly M. Sumner.

Holly Sumner was charged with;

  • Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense more than two grams of Methamphetamine
  • Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 1st Offense more than two grams of Heroin

Ms. Sumner also had a Parole Violation Warrant for;

  • Absconding Parole Supervision and Failure to Complete Treatment for Substance Abuse

Ms. Sumner was was lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center.

A warrant out of Pulaski District Court for Failure to Appear for:

  • Vehicle Insurance-related charges

Another out of Pulaski District Court for:

  • Registration of Vehicle and Insurance-related charges

A Pulaski County Circuit Court Indictment for:

  • Possession of Heroin

Mr. Brewer was lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center.
