LONDON, Kentucky (March 24, 2022) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's drug interdiction unit Justin Taylor along with drug interdiction unit Landry Collett arrested two individuals early Thursday morning March 24, 2022 at approximately 12:30 AM. The arrests occurred at a business in London off West Hal Rogers Parkway following a traffic stop and an investigation conducted after interdiction units became suspicious of possible drug activity associated with the occupants of the vehicle, a white colored Chevrolet Traverse.
During the subsequent investigation deputies located suspected Methamphetamine, a glass smoking pipe, and three firearms in the vehicle.
In addition upon reviewing video surveillance photos, interdiction units observed the female suspect attempting to conceal suspected Methamphetamine inside the business near a soft drink dispenser machine.
Arrested was :
The suspected drug trafficker/passenger, Billy Deanna Coffey age 47 of Hunter Ln., Richmond, KY charged with:
- Public intoxication – controlled substances
- Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Tampering with physical evidence
- Wanton endangerment – first-degree
The driver, John Kemper (right) age 45 of of Goose Ln., Berea, KY was charged with;
- Traffic related violations
In addition:
- This subject was wanted on a Rockcastle District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court.
These two individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
