SOMERSET, KY (August 26, 2022) - According to a report by the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office via socical media on Thursday August 25, 2022, Pulaski County Sheriff Greg Speck has reported that on Friday, August 5, 2022, the Sheriff’s Office received an alert that Donald Shelton escaped from a work detail with the Barren County Jail in Glasgow, Kentucky. Shelton had previous addresses on Frances Drive and Isle Road in Pulaski County.
An alert that was sent out to the staff at the Sheriff’s Office stated that Shelton had previous convictions for:
- Fleeing or evading arrest
- Bail jumping
- Resisting arrest
- Criminal mischief
- Shoplifting
On Saturday, August 20, 2022, Deputy Trent Massey saw Shelton as a passenger in a vehicle on E. Highway 914. Deputy Massey stopped the vehicle and Shelton ran from the vehicle. After about a 400-yard foot pursuit, Deputy Massey, assisted by Trooper Willie Cowan, arrested Mr. Shelton.
As a result of Fleeing from Deputy Massey, Donald Shelton was arrested and charged with:
1. Fleeing or Evading Police, 2nd Degree (On Foot)
2. Resisting Arrest
Deputy Massey also served a warrant from Barren County on Shelton for the original escape from the work detail.
This individual was lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center.
