KENTUCKY STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE A SWATTING COMPLAINT IN ANDERSON COUNTY, KENTUCKY

LAWRENCEBURG, KY (September 20, 2022) – The Kentucky State Police (KSP)) Post 12, Frankfort, is investigating a possible shooting incident that occurred just before 5:00 p.m. in the area of Salt River Road in Anderson County.

The initial investigation indicates this incident was (Swatting), and law enforcement cleared the area. The ongoing investigation is being conducted by KSP Post 12.

Swatting is the action or practice of making a prank call to emergency services in an attempt to draw a large presence of armed police officers to a residence, potentially putting officers and citizens in danger.

Swatting is a Class D Felony and is punishable by up to five years in prison.
