LONDON, KY - A Mayfield, Kentucky man is facing a variety of charges, including operating a motor vehicle under the influence and possession of marijuana, following a traffic stop by London Police Sergeant Drew Jackson Thursday night.
Shannon A. Harrison, 35, was arrested at 10:24 P.M Thursday on South Laurel Road across from Circle K. After stopping Harrison’s vehicle for expired tags, Sgt. Jackson said he noticed a strong odor of Marijuana coming from the vehicle. Harrison also exhibited slurred speech, glossy eyes and other symptoms of intoxication.
When Harrison exited the vehicle, he was unsteady on his feet and failed several field sobriety tests, the arresting report said. He told Sgt. Jackson that he had recently used Marijuana.
A search of the vehicle produced a small plastic baggie containing a green leafy substance believed to be Marijuana.
Shannon Harrison was charged with:
- Possession of Marijuana
- DUI
- No registration plates
- No registration receipt
- Failure to maintain insurance
- Operating a motor vehicle with a suspended driver’s license
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
