LONDON, KY (March 27, 2023) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Josh Velasco along with Deputy Stephen Walker arrested two individuals on Friday night March 24, 2023 at approximately 11:55 PM.
The arrests occurred on KY 80 in London following a traffic stop conducted on a silver colored Toyota Corolla whose license plate was obstructed with a grocery bag over it.
During the traffic stop the driver was determined to be operating on a suspended or revoked operator's license and had an outstanding warrant.
A passenger in the vehicle was also determined to have an outstanding warrant.
The occupants of the vehicle were identified as: The driver, James Gregory age 40 of London, KY and the passenger, Jack Kain of Keavy, KY.

James Gregory was charged with:
- Operating on suspended or revoked operator's license
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
In addition, this subject was charged on a Whitley District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of:
- Operating on suspended or revoked operator's license
In addition, this subject was charged on a Knox District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of:
- Operating on suspended or revoked operator's license
Jack Kain was charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on two charges of:
- Criminal trespassing
These two individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
