CORBIN, KY (April 17, 2023) – The Kentucky State Police (KSP) is reporting that the Whitley County Grand Jury returned an indictment as a result of an extensive investigation relating to the death of a three (3) year old toddler in Whitley County.
This investigation began on February 19, 2023. KSP Post 11, London, Lead Detective Logan Gay recently presented the case to the Whitley County Grand Jury, who returned indictments on the infant's mother, Alexander M. Datson/Ward, 20 of Corbin, and her boyfriend, Jordan B. Taylor, 22 also of Corbin.

Both individuals have been indicted on the charges below.
Alexander Ward was charged with.
- MURDER (Complicity)
- STRANGULATION 1st (Complicity)
Jordan Taylor was charged with.
- MURDER
- SODOMY 1st Degree Victim Under 12 yoa
- SRANGULATION
Both individuals have been taken into custody and lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center.

He was assisted by KSP Post 11, London personnel along with the Whitley County Sheriff's Office and the Corbin Police Department.
