DORTON, KY – The Kentucky State Police (KSP) is reporting that KSP Post 9, Pikeville received a call on June 15, 2023, at 9:48 p.m. reporting an ATV collision had occurred on the Hillbilly ATV Trail system in the Dorton community of Pike County.
Troopers from KSP Post 9 responded and began the investigation.
The initial investigation indicated Jeremy Griffey, 25 years old of Ashcamp, was operating a Honda ATV when the ATV overturned.
A 3 year-old male juvenile passenger on the ATV was transported to Pikeville Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation is ongoing by KSP Accident Reconstructionist, Detective Mark Branham.
Detective Branham was assisted on scene by Kentucky State Police Post 9 personnel and Lifeguard Ambulance Service.
