LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Zach Allen along with Deputy Austyn Weddle and Deputy Byron Grimes arrested a Michigan man on Saturday evening October 14, 2023 at approximately 5:57 PM.
Richard Oswald, age 62 of White Pigeon, Michigan was arrested on I-75 in London after deputies were dispatched to a complaint to attempt to locate a silver F-150 pickup pulling a black trailer southbound on I- 75 that had allegedly been involved in a hit and run traffic crash in Rockcastle County.
Deputies observed the suspect F-150 pickup traveling southbound on I-75 between the two London exits and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle.
During the investigation at the traffic stop, Deputies determined that the driver, Richard Oswald was under the influence. Oswald was taken into custody and transported to the Laurel County Correctional Center.
Richard Oswald was charged with:
- Operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense
- Leaving the scene of an accident
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
