HOLMES MILL, KY - According to the Harlan County Sheriff's Office: On Tuesday, October 17th, 2023, while on patrol around Ray Clark Loop in Holmes Mill, Sergeant Brian Maas conducted a traffic stop.
Upon making contact with the operator Sergeant Maas smelled a strong odor of alcoholic beverage and Marijuana.
It was determined through investigation that the operator of the vehicle was impaired and was arrested for DUI.
Through search incident to arrest suspected Methamphetamine and other controlled substances were located.
Contraband seized during the Holmes Mill traffic stop
Michael E. Pendergrass age 66 of Keokee, VA was arrested by Sergeant Maas and charged with:
- DUI
- Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree Methamphetamine
- Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree Drug Unspecified
- Possession of Marijuana
This individual was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center.
