LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Tommy Houston along with Capt. Chris Edwards arrested Kayla Cornett age 27 of White Oak Rd., London on Thursday morning December 14, 2023 at approximately 9:32 AM.
The arrest occurred at a residence off Abbuhl Road, approximately 4 miles west of London while deputies were investigating a burglary from a residence off Abbuhl Road.
Deputies reported that the victim stated that an electronic tablet had been stolen.
Information was developed that the tablet was pinging at a residence across from where the burglary had occurred.
Deputies traveled to that residence noting that it was a camper and they conducted an investigation, questioning an individual located in the camper.
Sheriff's investigators advised that individual that a stolen electronic tablet had pinged at the camper there.
The female being questioned advised Sheriff's investigators that the electronic tablet was located under the camper.
Deputies located the electronic tablet confirming its serial number.
Deputies arrested Kayla Cornett, the female located at that residence.
Kayla Cornett was charged with:
- Receiving stolen property
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
