LONDON, KY - The London Police Department reports that on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at approximately 4:22 PM, Sgt. Ashley Taylor arrested Michael Collins, age 51 of London, KY.
Detectives from the London Police Department were requested by Social Services to respond to a residence with them in reference to allegations involving Collins.
Prior to arrival, Officers had received a 911 call advising that the male in question had fled the location.
While on scene, Detectives were able to develop enough evidence to support charges for Collins. In the meantime, Officers from the London Police Department and Deputies from the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office set up a perimeter and began searching for Collins.
After a couple hours of searching, Deputy Brad Mink of the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office utilized a drone and was able to locate Collins hiding in a wooded area near a highway.
Collins was taken into custody without incident.
Michael Collins was charged with:
- Sexual Abuse 1st Degree
This individual was later lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
