LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Austyn Weddle along with K-9/shift Sgt. Gary Mehler with his K-9 Foxx and Deputy Cyruss McVey arrested Stephanie Ecton age 48 of Richmond, KY on Tuesday evening March 19, 2024 at approximately 5:35 PM.
The arrest occurred off Hal Rogers Parkway in London after Deputy Weddle was notified by a passerby that he had observed a female slumped over the wheel that seemed to be passed out in a vehicle.
Deputies located the female subject and conducted an investigation and Sgt. Mehler utilizing K-9 Foxx conducted a walk around the vehicle.
K-9 Foxx alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle and as a result this individual was found in possession of:
- Suspected Methamphetamine
- Marijuana
- A large quantity of pills
Stephanie Ecton was charged with:
- Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
- Prescription controlled substances not in proper container – first offense
- Possession of a controlled substance
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Possession of Marijuana.
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
