On that date, Deputy Weddle responded to a complaint of a dirt bike allegedly being operated on Sally's branch Road, east and traveling at a high rate of speed.

Through investigation Deputy Weddle learned that the dirt bike had allegedly almost struck four individuals. Deputy Weddle was able to locate the Yamaha YZ 250 dirt bike following it to a residence off Sally’s Branch Road, east where Deputy Weddle attempted communication with the operator of the dirt bike. The operator of the dirt bike created a disturbance there cursing and refusing to exit the dirt bike.

The dirt bike then fled the scene of both Deputy Weddle and Laurel Sheriff's K-9/shift Sgt. Gary Mehler, and the dirt bike nearly struck the four individuals again and was not located.

Deputies determined the driver’s identification and a warrant was sought and issued.
