LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Bobby Roberts arrested Dennis Spurlock age 51 of Bomont Ave., London on Friday evening June 7, 2024 at approximately 4:51 P.M.
The arrest occurred in a business parking lot off U.S. 25 approximately 6 miles South of London after Deputy Roberts was dispatched to a complaint of a male subject apparently passed out in his vehicle there.
Upon arrival at the scene Deputy Roberts located the suspect in a green Chevrolet pickup and conducted an investigation determining that the driver was under the influence.
During the investigation and arrest the driver was found in possession of suspected methamphetamine, pills, and a glass pipe and other paraphernalia.
Also, it was learned that the driver was wanted on two outstanding warrants.
Dennis Spurlock was charged with:
- Operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense
- Operating on suspended or revoked operator's license
- Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Prescription controlled substances not in proper container – first offense
In addition, this individual was charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to pay fines regarding charges of:
- License to be in possession
Also, this subject was charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court for arraignment on charges of:
- Careless driving; driving on DUI suspended license
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
