BELCHER, KY – The Kentucky State Police is reporting that KSP Post 9, Pikeville was notified of a three-vehicle fatal collision in Pike County at approximately 7:14 a.m. on Wednesday, June 12, 2024.
The collision occurred on Ferrells Creek Road in the Belcher community of Pike County.
Upon arrival and through investigation, troopers discovered Jeremy Gunter was operating a 2002 Ford F150 when his vehicle crossed the center line and struck a 2007 Ford 500 being operated by Donald Thacker.
Gunter’s vehicle then collided with a 2021 Toyota RAV4, operated by Ella Taylor.
Gunter and Thacker were transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Taylor was pronounced deceased on scene by the Pike County Coroner’s Office. The investigation is ongoing by KSP Accident Reconstructionist, Detective Jason Merlo.
Detective Merlo was assisted on scene by Kentucky State Police Post 9 personnel, Elkhorn City Volunteer Fire Department, and Lifeguard Ambulance Service.
