LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Bobby Roberts arrested Elisha Smith age 32 of Gray, KY early Sunday morning June 3, 2024 at approximately 2:13 AM.
The arrest occurred on American Greeting Card Road, approximately 8 miles south of London after Deputy Roberts was dispatched by London–Laurel County 911 Communications Ctr. to a traffic crash with injuries.
In addition, dispatch advised that the driver of the vehicle had exited the vehicle and was walking away from the crash site.
Upon arrival in the vicinity of the crash, Deputy Roberts located the driver and conducted an investigation determining that this individual was under the influence.

Elisha Smith was charged with:
- Operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense
- Leaving the scene of an accident
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
