LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: The Laurel County Sheriff's Office arrested Joseph C. Brewer age 21 of London for a Saturday afternoon shooting incident east of London.
Brewer was arrested for the Saturday, July 6, shooting of Jayden Jackson age 21.
The shooting was reported at 12:07 P.M., 6 miles east of London, off East Laurel Road (KY 80) and appeared to be the result of a road rage incident involving Brewer and another vehicle, not Jackson.
All indications are that Jackson pulled up on the incident, exited his vehicle, and was shot almost immediately.
Jackson sustained 2 gunshot wounds to the torso and was transported by a bystander, and later Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County to St. Joseph Hospital London. Jackson was then transported by Air Evac to UK Med where he underwent emergency surgery. Jackson is currently at the UK Medical Center in Lexington, KY.
Brewer was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
