DRUG SEIZURE WITH ARREST AFTER EXECUTION OF SEARCH WARRANTS ON HIGHWAY 80 IN PULASKI COUNTY, KENTUCKY

SOMERSET, KY — Pulaski County Sheriff Bobby Jones reports that on Tuesday, June 11th, 2024, a Pulaski County man was taken into in custody following the execution of search warrants.

TYLER COX 200The incident began when the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a residence and business, located on West Highway 80. The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division were investigating criminal activity by Tyler Cox (left), age 40, of Somerset.

During the course of their investigation, Detectives were able to determine evidence relevant to their investigation could be located at the business and apartment.

On Tuesday, Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division, the Narcotics Division, and the Patrol Division responded to the business and apartment to execute search warrants. The first area searched was a game room on West Highway 80.

Upon searching the game room, Detectives located:

  • Approximately19.5 grams of marijuana
  • 1.5 Clonazepam
  • Baggies
  • Digital scales near the cash register area of the business

Inside of one of the game machines in the pool room, Detectives located:

  • Approximately 128.9 grams of suspected marijuana

Detectives then searched a residence, located near the game room, belonging to Cox. Inside of the apartment, Detectives located a safe. Detectives were able to gain access to the safe. Located inside of the safe, Detectives discovered:

  • Approximately 102 grams of marijuana
  • 9 Suboxone strips
  • 23 Clonazepam
  • 7 Suboxone
  • 2 vials of steroids
  • 1 Oxycodone
  • A Taurus handgun
  • Over $2,500.00 in cash

Also located in the apartment were:

  • Digital scales
  • Baggies
  • Various drug paraphernalia

Detectives reviewed Coxs’ criminal history and discovered Cox was a convicted felon, prohibited from possessing firearms.

Tyler Bradshaw Cox was taken into custody and transported to the Pulaski County Detention Center.

Tyler Cox was charged with the following:

  • Trafficking in Marijuana (8 oz > 5lbs) 2nd Offense (Enhanced by Firearm)
  • Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree 2nd Offense (10 D.U.
  • Drug Unspecified) (Enhanced by Firearm)
  • Trafficking in Controlled Substance 2nd Degree 2nd Offense (> or *20 D.U. Drug Unspecified) (Enhanced by Firearm)
  • Trafficking in Controlled Substance 3rd Degree 2nd Offense (< 20 *D.U. Drug Unspecified) (Enhanced by Firearm)
  • Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon
  • Drug Paraphernalia – Buy/Possess (Enhanced by Firearm)
  • Trafficking in Controlled Substance 2nd Degree 2nd Offense (Anabolic Steroid) (Enhanced by Firearm)

This individual was lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center where he is currently held as of this publishing on Wednesday, July 10, 2024.

The investigation is ongoing by Detective Tan Hudson.

The Narcotics Division was assisted with the search warrant by Patrol Division, Criminal Investigation Division, and the Pulaski County Rescue Squad.
