Drugs, Cash Seized from Beattyville, Kentucky Man during Arrest in Madison, County

RICHMOND, KY - The Madison County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Beattyville man on Friday, June 28th for trafficking controlled substances.

Deputy Josh Foster conducted a traffic stop on Aqueduct Drive in Richmond, KY for a traffic violation around 12:27 p.m. on Friday, June 28, 2024.

The traffic stop investigation led to the arrest of passenger Curtis J. Phillips, age 45 of a Beattyville, KY regarding active warrants.

A Subsequent search of Curtis led to the seizure of 23.8 ggw of suspected methamphetamine and 14.4 ggw of a suspected heroin/fentanyl mixture.

In addition, Deputy Foster seized $1161 cash.

Curtis Phillips was charged with:

  • Trafficking Controlled Substance 1st offense, 1st degree (methamphetamine)
  • Trafficking Controlled Substance 1st offense, 1st degree (Fentanyl)

Phillips was lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.
