CORBIN, KY - Sunday night August 4, 2024 at approximately 11:00 PM, the Corbin Police Department (CPD) was dispatched to I-75 MM 26 northbound in regards to a motor vehicle collision with injuries.
During the investigation, it was determined two persons were injured and sustained serious injuries. Both were transported from the scene.
One person, a juvenile, later succumbed to the injuries sustained in the collision.
Kentucky State Police Post 11 was contacted for assistance in an accident reconstruction. KSP is the primary contact and is continuing the investigation.
Corbin Fire Department, Whitley County EMS, Oakgrove / Woodbine Volunteer Fire Department, Whitley County Emergency Management, PHI Air Medical, Air Evac Life Team, Kentucky State Highway Department, and other agencies assisted on the scene.
