LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Daniel Reed arrested Rebecca Blevins age 37 of East Bernstadt, KY on Wednesday night August 21, 2024 at approximately 9:30 PM.
The arrest occurred on Highway 1376 approximately 5 miles north of London after Deputy Reed was dispatched by London – Laurel County 911 Communication Ctr. to a traffic crash involving a dirt bike on Highway 1376.
While enroute to the scene Deputy Reed was notified that a female at the scene was trying to get the driver of the dirt back into her vehicle and leave the scene of the crash.
Upon arrival at the scene Deputy Reed noted that a resident there advised that the female had thrown something into his field after hearing first responders emergency equipment responding to the scene. Deputies located the item thrown into the field and identified it as suspected methamphetamine.
As deputies investigated and attempted to coax the driver to exit her vehicle, they noted that she refused and created a disturbance upon her removal from the vehicle. Deputies further noted that she attempted to pull away from arresting officers and had to be assisted into the patrol vehicle.
Rebecca Blevins was charged with:
- Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine
- Disorderly conduct – second-degree
- Resisting arrest
- Obstructing governmental operations
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
