BROWNSVILLE, KY – Kentucky State Police (KSP) is reporting that early Sunday morning August 25, 2024 at approximately 12:30 a.m., KSP Post 3 received a call to assist the Edmonson County Sheriff’s Office at 656 The Bridge Road.
Once KSP troopers arrived at the scene and began an investigation, Ernest Cline, 83 years-old of Bowling Green, KY was found deceased inside of the residence in a bed.
KSP Post 3 troopers developed a suspect during the investigation. Damien Worrel, age 18, was taken into custody and transported to the Hart County Detention Center.
Damien Worrel was charged with:
- Murder
- Robbery
Worrel was lodged in the Hart County Detention Center.
The investigation is ongoing and led by Detective Allen Shirley.
