LONDON, KY — Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Cyruss McVey arrested Sean Michael Gurney age 52 of Port Charlotte, Florida on Thursday night September 5, 2024 approximately 9:35 PM.
The arrest occurred in a business parking lot off KY 770 approximately 9 miles South of London after deputies were dispatched by London – Laurel County 911 Communication Ctr. to a complaint that a male subject operating a white Nissan Rogue was doing doughnuts in the roadway and striking several traffic cones there.
While enroute to the scene deputies were further advised that the male subject had exited his vehicle armed with a baseball bat, traveled to a business across the street and confronted individuals there.
When deputies made contact with the suspect, they noted that he had bloodshot eyes, constricted pupils and was rambling about things that didn't make any sense.
He further stated that a motorcycle gang had held him captive. Deputies determined that this individual was under the influence.
Sean Michael Gurney was charged with:
- Disorderly conduct – first-degree
- Public intoxication – controlled substances
- Terroristic threatening – third-degree
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
