LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Detective Tommy Houston arrested Christopher Brian Mathis age 42 of Annville, KY on Wednesday night September 4, 2024 at approximately 7:40 PM.
The arrest occurred off Hal Rogers Parkway west of London following an investigation conducted by Sheriff's investigators.
Allegedly, Mathis made unlawful entry into several vehicles on a business parking lot stealing firearms from three separate vehicles along with other items from a fourth vehicle.
Sheriff's investigators were able to recover much of the reported stolen items including all three firearms from a residence located in Jackson County. Also power tools and money were recovered.
Christopher Brian Mathis was charged with:
- Four counts of theft by unlawful taking $1000 or more but under $10,000
- Three counts of theft by unlawful taking – firearm
- Three counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
