LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Deputy Zach Allen arrested Darcie Shivelhood, age 53, of London on Wednesday, October 2nd, 2024 at approximately 6:48 PM.
The arrest occurred off Dogwood Springs Drive, approximately 3 miles south of London after deputies were dispatched by London/Laurel County 911 Center to an assault with injury complaint.
As deputies were responding to the scene, dispatch further advised that Shivelhood had stabbed the victim with a knife.
Upon arrival to the scene, deputies made contact with the victim who stated that Shivelhood had struck her in the back of the head, stabbed her in her right arm with a knife then left walking down the road before deputies arrived.
Witnesses on scene also stated that Shivelhood slashed a tire on a vehicle in the driveway owned by the victim before she left walking.
Deputies were able to locate Shivelhood walking down the road still in possession of the knife.
The victim was treated on the scene by Ambulance INC of Laurel County then transported to Saint Joseph of London Hospital.
Darcie Shivelhood was charged with:
- Assault 2nd Degree
- Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
