LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Detective Tommy Houston along with Capt. Richard Dalrymple are conducting an investigation into a reported shots fired complaint that was dispatched by London – Laurel County 911 Communication Ctr..
On Sunday morning October 13, 2024 at approximately 10:36 A.M. Sheriff's investigators responded to the complaint scene in a business parking lot off U.S. 25 approximately 1 mile north of London.
Upon arrival, investigators learned that allegedly two male individuals, reportedly cousins had encountered each other in the parking lot there.
One individual allegedly fired two rounds from a weapon in the direction of the other individual. Those rounds apparently traveled through the rear side windows of a black Suburban parked at the business, and the trajectory of the rounds continued into the traveled portion of U.S. 25 where one round apparently struck a passing Jeep in the driver side rear door.
No injuries were reported. The two individuals allegedly involved in the incident fled the scene before Sheriff's investigators arrived. Sheriff's investigators are attempting to locate those two individuals.
Evidence was collected at the scene and witnesses interviewed.
