LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: The Laurel County Drug Interdiction Task Force comprised of the Laurel County Sheriff's Office, HIDTA, Knox County Sheriff's Office, and London City Police arrested Jacques Donta March age 35 of Lithia Springs, Georgia early Monday morning November 18, 2024 at approximately 2:48 AM.
The arrest occurred on I–75 at KY 770 approximately 9 miles South of London while the Laurel County Drug Interdiction Task Force along with Laurel County deputies and Kentucky State Police were conducting a traffic safety checkpoint there.
During their safety check, investigators detected the odor of marijuana emitting from a Gray Nissan Frontier driven by Jacques Donta March of Lithia Springs, Georgia and learned from the driver that he did have marijuana inside the vehicle.
Laurel Sheriff's interdiction unit Jake Miller utilizing his K-9 “Ash” conducted a walkaround on March's vehicle. During the walkaround K-9 “Ash” gave a positive alert on the vehicle.
During the search, investigators found a clear bag containing a white substance believed to be cocaine. The substance tested positive for cocaine.
Jacques March was arrested and placed in a patrol vehicle there and as investigators continued their investigation they found that March had a large amount of cocaine on his person and had attempted to destroy the drugs in his possession while seated in the patrol vehicle.
However, investigators were able to locate a large quantity of cocaine on the accused person.

Jacques March was charged with:
- Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – cocaine
- Tampering with physical evidence
- Possession of marijuana
- Operating a vehicle with an expired operator's license
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
