Death Investigation after KSP Troopers, Detectives locate Unresponsive Infant over Embankment in Owsley Co., KY

BOONEVILLE, KY – Kentucky State Police (KSP) report that on Friday, November 29, 2024, just before 10:30 A.M., KSP Post 7, Richmond, received a 911 call in reference to a female who had been transported to a local hospital reporting a possible miscarriage. While at the hospital, the couple advised the infant was still at the residence on Lewis Lane in Booneville.

KSP troopers, along with detectives responded to the residence.

During the preliminary investigation KSP troopers and detectives located an unresponsive infant over an embankment outside of the residence.

The Owsley County Coroner, Rob Morgan pronounced the infant deceased. The infant was then transported to the Medial Examiners Office in Frankfort for an autopsy.

The ongoing investigation is being conducted by KSP Post 7 Detective Anthony Bowling, with assistance from KSP personnel, and the Owsley County Coroner.
