Portland, OR Man Arrested for Repeated Public Indecency in Washington County

WASHINGTON COUNTY, OR - Since October 2024, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office has been investigating multiple reports of a man exposing himself to women. Initially, identifying the suspect proved challenging due to limited information. However, detectives from the Violent Crimes Unit were able to identify the man as 36-year-old Derrick James Bonn of Portland.

The investigation revealed that Bonn was linked to ten separate incidents between October and December, primarily occurring in the Cooper Mountain area of Aloha, where he worked as a newspaper delivery man. In nine of these incidents, Bonn targeted women who were either inside their home or engaging in outdoor activities such as walking or jogging during the early morning hours. Bonn exhibited a disturbing pattern of behavior, often exiting his vehicle—a maroon 2004 Ford Focus hatchback with Oregon plates—to directly confront the women or appearing at their windows to expose himself while engaging in lewd acts.

On Friday, December 13, 2024, detectives arrested Bonn during a mission specifically focused to locate him and prevent additional incidents. Bonn has been initially charged with two counts of public indecency, with additional charges anticipated as the investigation progresses.

Detectives believe there may be more victims who have not yet come forward. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information or who may have been a victim of Bonn’s to contact investigators at 503-846-2700.

The release of Bonn’s booking photo is for law enforcement purposes and is in accordance with Oregon House Bill 3273 for the identification of additional criminal activity.
