LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Detective Taylor McDaniel placed a 16-year-old male juvenile in custody on Thursday night December 19, 2024.
The juvenile suspect was taken into custody after deputies were dispatched by London – Laurel County 911 Communication Ctr. at 9:17 PM to a stabbing complaint off American Greeting Card Road approximately 9 miles South of London.
When deputies arrived at the scene they learned that allegedly a 16-year-old male had stabbed another 16-year-old male juvenile in the back with a knife multiple times causing serious physical injury to the victim.
The victim was flown to UK med center in Lexington in critical condition.
The 16-year-old male suspect has been charged with:
- Assault – first-degree
The 16-year-old male suspect was detained at the Breathitt County Juvenile Detention Center.
Other Sheriff's detectives and deputies assisted at the scene.
Motive not yet determined.
