IRVINE, Ky. (October 16, 2019) – The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post is conducting a death investigation following a fire that occurred last night at a residence in Irvine, KY.
KSP Post 7 was contacted by Estill County 911 requesting assistance with an investigation after the Irvine Fire Department located human remains while extinguishing a residential fire on Covey Road.
As a result of the initial investigation the remains have been taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort for an autopsy, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The ongoing investigation is being conducted by KSP Post 7 Detective Austin Brashear and Arson Investigator Pat Alford.
