Secretary of State Michael Adams & Elliot Wang, Director-General of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Atlanta
ATLANTA, GA – For the second year in a row, Secretary of State Michael Adams joined Elliot Wang, Director-General of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Atlanta, to celebrate Taiwan’s National Day holiday, observed on October 10.
“At this critical time, I express my solidarity with the people of Taiwan,” said Adams. “Kentucky’s, and America’s, relationship with Taiwan is a special one.”
Last month, a Taiwanese delegation traveled to Kentucky to sign a letter of intent to purchase Kentucky soybeans and corns.
“Kentucky and Taiwan’s already strong relationship was bolstered with this agreement to benefit Kentucky farmers,” said Adams. “We thank Taiwan for their commitment to Kentucky agriculture.”
Trade between the United States and Taiwan has surpassed $105 billion annually, making Taiwan the United States’ 10th largest trading partner.
