SOMERSET, KY (December 9, 2024) - Pulaski County Sheriff Bobby Jones reports the arrest of a Somerset man after a status check in October of 2024 led to criminal charges.
On Tuesday, October 8, 2024, PCSO Sergeant Ron Hellard responded to a status check on Providence Road after the caller notified law enforcement that her sister called her while at the residence asking for help and she could hear screaming in the background.
Upon Sergeant Hellard's arrival at the residence, a female subject ran to him from a gate at the side of the home, crying for help.
Sergeant Hellard's investigation revealed that the female victim had come to the residence the evening before to pick up four-wheeler parts listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace by Charles Hendrix.
Once at the residence, the victim stated Hendrix could not locate his wallet and began blaming the victim for taking it. The victim then said Hendrix threatened her with a gun and told her she wasn't leaving until he got his wallet back.
Hendrix could not be located at the residence then, and a warrant for his arrest was obtained, charging him with Unlawful Imprisonment 1st Degree and Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree.
On Wednesday, December 4, 2024, the United States Marshals Service located a possible location for Hendrix and set up surveillance.
After they had received further information that confirmed Hendrix as being at the location, PCSO deputies and U.S. Marshals approached the residence, announced their presence, and ordered Hendrix to exit. Hendrix did so without further incident and was taken into custody at that time. The suspect, Charles Ray Hendrix, 48 years of age, Somerset, KY, was arrested at the scene.
