FULTON, KY (January 22, 2025) – Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 1 is investigating an early morning collision that claimed the life of a Tennessee man.
At 6:19 am CT, KSP Post 1 was requested by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office to investigate a vehicle versus pedestrian collision that occurred in the 4000 block of E State Line Road.
Preliminary investigation indicates that Jordan B. Owens, 44 years old of Greenfield, TN had been operating a Mack garbage truck. The truck broke down on E State Line Road, stalled over the center line of the roadway. Owens was out of the vehicle.
A 2014 Chevrolet Impala, operated by Jose Gomez Carrillo, 25 years old of Mayfield, KY with passenger Oseas Hernandez Gomez, 19 years old of Mayfield, KY was traveling westbound on E State Line Road. For reasons still under investigation, the Impala operated by Carrillo struck Owens.
Owens was transported to an out of state hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The investigation remains ongoing by Detective Nate Moore.
